SMOKUM LIVESTOCK

About
our company

At Smokum Livestock Co., we combine smart land stewardship with renewable-energy support by providing managed solar grazing services across the Western United States. Based in Fallon, Nevada, our operation is built around a simple mission: deliver reliable, regenerative vegetation management that protects solar assets, improves site performance, and supports healthy ecosystems.

Our flocks are raised and managed by experienced livestock handlers who understand both grazing science and the unique demands of utility-scale solar sites. Instead of traditional mowing—which can be costly, disruptive, and damaging to equipment—we deploy well-managed sheep to maintain vegetation naturally, safely, and efficiently. The result is a cleaner site, healthier soil, reduced fire risk, and a more sustainable long-term solution for vegetation control.

We proudly service solar facilities within an eight-hour radius of Fallon, NV, including:

  • Nevada – full statewide coverage

  • California – Northern and Central regions, including major solar corridors

  • Oregon – Southern and high-desert regions

  • Idaho – Southern Idaho, including the Boise and Twin Falls regions

  • Utah – Western and Central Utah, including Tooele, Provo, Delta, Cedar City, and SLC-adjacent areas

As a family-built, locally rooted livestock company, we believe in hard work, reliability, and transparent communication. Whether you manage a single solar site or a multi-state portfolio, we provide dependable service, consistent grazing schedules, and seasonal planning to keep your sites performing at their best.

At Smokum Livestock Co., we’re committed to supporting the growth of clean power—one grazing season at a time.
